2K Sports posted a new clip on Instagram for NBA 2K16. This time, we have clearer evidence that Spike Lee is hands on directing as much of the game as he can.
This Instagram is really three clips in one. In the first clap, you can clearly see two motion capture actors actually acting out a scene with Lee supervising. The two are talking while one of them seems to be pantomiming holding a sandwich.
On the second clip, Lee is again giving instructions, seemingly to an actor in a suit. We don’t know the context of this little tidbit – he may be filming a live action segment, or some voice acting.
The last one is just Lee and his staff laughing, which is just a quintessential Spike Lee making-of/documentary clip.
Nothing much tangible in today’s Instagram, but if there’s anything to be taken from this, it’s the extent that Spike Lee has injected himself into development. Of course, this corroborates what we've seen before, but now it seems like there is barely anything in the production that Lee wasn't involved in. Lee might take game producer credits before the game is out.
NBA 2K16 will be released on September 29, 2015, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, iOS
