On his Japanese Twitter feed, Kojima provided details on what to expect from the game and what makes it different to traditional open world games.
“MGSV TPP is somewhat different from the traditional open world game," he said. "I used the technology and concept of open world for a “free infiltration” game. The time and route of the infiltration, the strategy, please enjoy the freedom of operation and escape in the game. Freedom of sneaking > Stealth. You’ll see when you’ll watch the actual gameplay video.”
Kojima added, “The currently published actual gameplay video of MGSV shows free roam, then entering the mission “A Hero’s Way” [The Japanese title is “Spetnatz Hero“] from the north west during the day. We sneaked into the hot zone on the D-Walker and escaped by helicopter. The video that will be published next week is another route of the same mission. We will attack it from another direction in some form. The attack method is free, because this is not a linear game.”
