The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time Hums Its Tune On Wii U Virtual Console

July 3, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Not sure which version you want to get? We run down the differences between what the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS versions have to offer.

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time is now available to download and play on the Wii U Virtual Console.

For those counting at home, this currently gives you three ways to acquire the game on modern consoles, and six overall. The game is already available on Wii Virtual Console, and also received a 3DS remake The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time 3DS. Of course, the game was originally released on N64 in 1998 and received a rerelease on Gamecube under the anthology The Legend of Zelda Collector’s Edition.

Ocarina Of Time should require no introduction, but it is the first 3D game in The Legend of Zelda series, and is also one of the most critically acclaimed and bestselling games in the series.

The question here is do you want to get this game on Wii U? If you owned the original, the answer is probably no. If you didn’t own it, but not sure if this is the version for you, here’s what each modern version has to offer:

Wii version: Wii Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro support. 1000 Wii Points.

Wii U version: Wii Pro Controller support, Off-TV Play, Miiverse, restore and suspend points. $ 9.99, or $ 1.99 if you already own the Wii version.

3DS version: integrated guides, reimagined full 3D graphics, Master Quest, Boss Challenge, integrated guides, touchscreen and gyro support, Miiverse, and more. $ 40.

Do you already own The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time? Are you buying this game again, or for the first time? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
