Nordic Games and Piranha Bytes have announced ELEX, a new open-world RPG for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The title is described as an action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic science fantasy universe in which players are thrust into a vast, seamless game world filled with mutated creatures, complex moral choices, a host of original characters, and strong action mechanices to back it all up.
"To say we are excited to see this new project unfold in the hands of Piranha Bytes is an understatement. ELEX is going to be edgy, dark, uncompromising, complex, and we love it already," Reinhard Pollice, business & product development director at Nordic Games, commented in a press release.
A "vertical slice build" of ELEX will be premiered at gamescom in August.
Björn Pankratz, game director at Piranha Bytes, added, "We can't wait to show you a completely new game experience with a fresh setting, new assets and plenty of possibilities."
ELEX is set for release in Winter 2016 or 2017.
