Amy Hennig's secretive Star Wars game for EA Visceral is "Star Wars in the style of Uncharted", and is said to be "along the same lines" as LucasArts' cancelled Star Wars 1313, according to actor Nolan North, who voices Uncharted protagonist Nathan Drake.
"If you're a big fan of Amy Hennig and her styles of story: the big thing about her is that she's gone to EA and is going to reboot a brand new Star Wars franchise in the style of Uncharted," North told an audience at Metrocon 2015.
"And I happen to know a lot about it," he continued, "and it's gonna be awesome."
He clarified that the game isn't Star Wars 1313, "but it's along the same lines". He also revealed that he "actually did the first mocap tests for that [1313]".
Hennig departed Naughty Dog in April 2014, under somewhat unusual circumstances, with rumours suggesting she had been effectively forced out. Hennig never entirely clarified what happened and was shortly afterwards hired by EA.
"I can't really say too much about that…" North commented. "But I will. We had shot eight months of her story and it was all thrown away. The Last of Us guys came in, they wanted… You have to understand, new producers, new people, they want to do it…
"I don't know what happened exactly, Amy is still a very very dear friend of mine, and she's brilliant, but The Last of Us guys were the next team there, so they took over and just wanted their own flavour. They got rid of some of the other people involved and just redid the thing.
He added: "The tone I think is going to be slightly different. Has to be. It's like, you can't have… A Robert Ludlum novel is not going to be the same as Stephen King – they're different styles. But it's true to the story."
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End launches in Spring 2016, while Star Wars 1313 went down with LucasArts. EA Visceral's Star Wars game has yet to be officially revealed, named, or dated.
