EA christened the fourth installment in the Mass Effect series with a proper name last E3. Mass Effect: Andromeda had fans going wild, but there’s something that they completely skipped out on during the press conference: They didn’t show the player character.
“You will play a human, male or female, though that’s actually not the character you saw in the trailer (more on that later). You’ll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with.” says BioWare on their blog. That begs the question: Who is the character in the trailer? Is he of any importance to the player? We want answers, BioWare.
What they’ve confirmed so far is that players will get to explore a new galaxy, very much separated from where the original trilogy took place, and a fancier ride. A little vague, but they did say they were throwing in “the best parts of any Mass Effect game: exciting new worlds to discover, great characters, and intense action,” all while aiming to exceed players’ expectations.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to launch during Holidays 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
