PlayStation 4 exclusive Driveclub is finally available on PlayStation Plus for subscribers in Europe and North America.
Shuhei Yoshida explained in a blog post that Sony is rolling out online access for the game in the hours following release to ensure all players have a good experience. What this means is, if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you will get the game completely playable in offline mode. You may also get access to online play immediately, but if you do not, you will have to wait for Sony to roll it out to more and more users.
This should be self evident, but Sony decided to release the PlayStation Plus version in this way because Driveclub is heavily reliant on a good connection for you to enjoy its best online multiplayer features, including challenges, leaderboards, activity feeds, and social connections.
