To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Gravity Rush game, fansite Gravity Rush Central interviewed the game’s director Keiichiro Toyama. Toyama was the director for both Gravity Rush and Gravity Rush 2. Keiichiro Toyama is a giant of the Japanese video game industry, having created Silent Hill, Siren, and Gravity Rush. He is now working on a new game, Slitterhead, which was revealed at last year’s Game Awards. During the interview, Toyama was asked about many areas of the Gravity Rush games’ development and potential future on PC.
Since Sony has been porting PlayStation exclusives to PC, Toyama was asked about the Gravity Rush games being ported to PC.
“GRC: Sony is currently porting more of their first-party games to PC. How would you feel about the Gravity Rush games being made available on that platform?
KT: I think it would be a good thing to open the game up to more users. It would also be wonderful if Gravity Rush 2 ran on 60fps.”

A lack of 30 FPS support for Gravity Rush 2 on PS4 has long been something that has disappointed fans. Especially since the game has never received a performance update for the PS5. If a PC port were to materialize, it would likely result in a PS5 upgrade at the same time. Unfortunately, Japan Studio was shut down by Sony last year so the likelihood of a PC port or a PS5 upgrade is slim.
Even though Keiichiro Toyama has now left Sony, he said that he would still like to work on anything related to the Gravity Rush franchise in the future.
“GRC: Of course, there’s one question we have to ask. You’ve mentioned that you maintain a good relationship with Sony. Given the chance, would you want to work on a new Gravity Rush game?
There are various things to bear in mind as a start-up, but on a personal level I obviously would like to. Even if it wasn’t a new game, if there is any opportunity for me to be involved with anything related, I would be grateful to do so.”
