Warner Bros Interactive has revealed that they have cancelled the Batmobile special edition of Batman Arkham Knight.
Retailers GAME, Gamestop, and Amazon each emailed customers who preordered the special edition with the news. Their emails indicated outright that the culprit was unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality of the Batmobile. In turn, each retailer has offered their own ways to make it up to their customers. Amazon, for example, is offering $ 20 in promotional credit.
The $ 200 special edition would have come with a limited production run Batmobile made by Project Triforce. The said Batmobile was to be fully detailed, and would even be transformable.
Warner Bros also revealed, this time in their community forums, that the retailer preorder exclusives are only time limited exclusives after all. This means the Harley Quinn and Red Hood Story packs, as well as all the Batmobile and Booster packs, will eventually be available to all customers, via either the Premium Edition or Season Pass. Their availability will simply come up after set timeframes for early access for each retailer expires.
