Square Enix has taken their time bringing the Final Fantasy XIII games to PC after committing to it. Now, it appears that they are now targeting Lighting Returns’ release to PC to Autumn 2015.
Square Enix shared a brief update on the port on Twitter, promising to update fans regularly on their progress.

Lighting Returns was originally released on November 2014, but the September before that, Square Enix promised that they would be bringing all the Final Fantasy XIII games to PC. Final Fantasy XIII did get released on October 2014, followed by Final Fantasy XIII -2 that December. However, those two games did get originally released years before their PC ports, in 2009 and 2011, respectively.
So, it may be a minor miracle for Square Enix to get the Lighting Returns port out within a year upon its original release, but they did seem to imply they would be able to do so. Last June, Square Enix had to reaffirm that the game was still coming to PC, but truth be told, they may be best served simply setting proper expectations on how long a port would have to take.
The Final Fantasy XIII games have received mixed critical reception, but even as older Final Fantasy fans complain about it, they have proven popular with a newer generation of gamers. The PC ports have similarly proven lackluster, with little to no improvements in performance but do come with PC only options such as graphical options and resolutions.
