Once upon a time, Kinect was integral to the Xbox One experience but at Microsoft's E3 press conference earlier this week the peripheral didn't get a single mention – much less any game announcements which would make use of the tech.
Shannon Loftis, general manager of global games publishing for Xbox, has told Polygon that unannounced Kinect games are in active development both internally at Microsoft and at third-party studios.
"It's [Kinect] still an option for gamers and it still powers what's special about how you can navigate the dashboard," she said. "They wanted a choice and they got a choice."
Loftis said Kinect didn't receive the attention it has previously because Microsoft wanted to focus on games coming out this autumn and widely requested features such as backward compatibility.
Kinect is still coming to Windows 10 and unannounced games for the peripheral are in development for release this autumn, including unannounced titles being created internally at Microsoft.
"It's still a going concern," she said. "More creators than you might expect are now engaging with Kinect for Xbox One."
We may hear more about Kinect at gamescom in August.
