We have a new video previewing a major scene in Batman Arkham Knight, featuring Firefly.
As Sefton Hill explains in commentary, Firefly is acting unhinged because the villains have come together in a world without Joker. The game starts with a scene where the Clown Prince of Crime is cremated, so there is no question that he is dead. In fact, this plot point is crucial to the game’s narrative.
Rocksteady has referred to this before, but if one posits that Joker was such a chaotic force in Gotham that he was keeping the villains divided, if he was ever taken out of the picture, than they would certainly team up for the purpose of taking down Bruce.
Getting back to Firefly, Bruce reacts to an SOS that Firefly is running wild and throwing napalm all around Gotham. To catch up to him on his jetpack, the Batmobile has to balance out between using the Afterburner and powersliding at the right moments. When you succeed, Bruce will jump off the Batmobile to take down Firefly and beat him. Of course, this can all be done in such a way that you build a huge combo.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be releasing next week, on June 23, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and PC, across Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.
