We have new images and more information for you regarding Guerrilla Games’ latest exclusive game for the PlayStation 4, Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Originally revealed in the PlayStation E3 2015 event, the game is set in what is heavily implied to be a post apocalyptic world, but one of an unusual flavor. Instead of endless desolation, the world is lush and teeming with life. A forgotten civilization lies in ruins as machines that act and behave like megabeasts (probably nanomachine-based creatures) are on top of the food chain.
The young huntress in the trailer is named Aloy, and she has apparently been outcast from her tribe. She embarks on a Bildungsroman that will entail taking on many of these machines. She will have to contend with both solitary creatures as well as those that travel in herds, and learn their behaviors, attack patterns, and weak points. She will also go guerrilla (pun not intended), using stealth and cunning to approach unseen and strike.
To her advantage, Aloy can make tools, and to add to that, she can herself combine mechanical with primitive parts to make unique weapons. This may help Aloy take down the largest enemies, but Guerrilla teases that the strongest enemies in this world are not necessarily the biggest.
Horizon: Zero Dawn is currently undated for release.
