Square Enix revealed Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness, their latest collaboration with Tri-Ace.
Star Ocean Integrity and Faithlessness was already revealed in Japan, but now Square confirms a US and Europe release for PlayStation 4 in 2016. The game is also coming to PlayStation 3 on top of PlayStation 4 in Japan this Winter 2015.
The game combines elements familiar to older Star Ocean fans, but also new ones that fit what fans expect from modern RPGs. The real-time battle system is still there, but whereas battles were separated from event scenes before, it is now part of one seamless world.
The party system is highly expanded, with the ability to recruit more members than ever before. The battle system also retains nuances in dodging and special skills, but also adds new elements in terms of distance to enemies.
Tri-Ace also clarified that the game is very much a game in progress. UI is far from finalized, and current trailers run at 30 FPS. Tri-Ace is targeting 60 FPS for the final release.
