Sony has announced its first State of Play for 2022 and it’s all about Gran Turismo 7. The State of Play will take place on February 2 on Twitch and YouTube. The event will be at 2 pm Pacific, 5 pm Eastern, 10 pm GMT, and 11 pm CET. The State of Play will feature over 30 minutes of PS5 footage for Gran Turismo 7 and Sony promised new gameplay details will be revealed.
Sony holding a State of Play in February has been rumored for a few weeks now. The original rumors that cropped up earlier this month suggested the State of Play would feature multiple games and take place in the middle of February. Since this State of Play is going ahead on February 2 and will only feature Gran Turismo 7, it’s possible that another event is still on the horizon.
The State of Play is great news for Gran Turismo fans who are desperate for more details on the new game. Compared to other big PlayStation exclusives this close to release, gamers still haven’t been shown a huge amount of Gran Turismo 7. Hopefully, Wednesday’s State of Play will give fans the in-depth look at the game they crave. The lack of info even led to rumors that the game would be delayed. Sony canceled an event for the game last week without much notice or explanation. This led to speculation that the game would be delayed. However, it turned out to just be a simple scheduling conflict for Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi.
Sony also released a new trailer for the game last week. The short trailer shows off some of the PS5 features for Gran Turismo 7 but still doesn’t reveal a whole lot about the game. Check out the “Find Your Line” trailer here.
