Wondering how long Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain exactly is? Apparently it dwarfs Ground Zeroes by a wide, wide margin.
On a PlayStation Access YouTube video, press spoke to a Konami representative who revealed information about the ongoing gameplay being streamed. Apparently the player was about to finish the story campaign. He had been playing the game for 50 hours, and had a completion rate of 52 %.
Of course, we have been through this before with Ground Zeroes. The completion rate is merely an indicator of how much of the total content has been viewed or played in the game, and it’s to be expected that much of this is comprised of items to be found and collected, as well as in-game achievements.
With all this in mind, a 50 hour story campaign is still a sprawling epic, and unless the streamer was dawdling or got stuck at certain points, we have to assume the game is that big. For dedicated fans, 100 hours might not even be enough. On top of that, of course, there is also Metal Gear Online, a completely separate game.
