Tales of Berseria’s Protagonist and Setting Details Revealed

June 11, 2015 by Stephen Daly

The game doesn’t currently have a release date.

New details about Bandai Namco's Tales of Berseria have been revealed thanks to the latest issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, Anime News Network reports.

The PlayStation 3 and PS4 game takes place in the sacred kingdom of Midgand, which features large continental landmasses and multiple archipelagoes. The people who live there focus on sailing and shipbuilding tech, while there's a huge variation in climate between the northern and southers regions of the kingdom – including summers which never end and deep winters.

Tales of Berseria's heroine is named Velvet, who's voiced by Rina Satou. Something happened to Velvet three years ago, something which shocked her world. The magazine quotes Velvet as commenting, "I won't give up. I'll bite them as many times as it takes."

Kousuke Fujishima will be returning as game designer, joining Mutsumi Inomata, and animation studio Ufotable will create the game's cutscenes.

At present, the game is only confirmed for Japan and Bandai Namco has not yet offered release date or pricing information.
