Some new images from Halo 5: Guardians have leaked, giving us our first good look at the weapons.
Now, to be clear, these are clearly placeholder images, but this is still a great look at the game at a certain state of development, and helps shed light on what 343 Industries are currently working towards. They were taken very shortly after the beta, so these also likely do not accurately represent the current the build.
With all this in mind, here are the more salient observations from this build:
· The incineration cannon has changed from Halo 4, with a charged shot that powers up the longer you charge.
· On the other hand, the railgun works about the same, with 11 shots per magazine.
· Overshield worked but seemed buggy in the build.
· Boltshot has lost its shotgun fire mode. Instead, it fires two shots at once. It can also track down targets to some degree.
· The suppressor fires much slower.
· Spartan chatter and cutscenes have been reduced.
· The pistol’s rate of fire is slower, but much more powerful.
· Ground and Pound is harder to use, with a small radius of effect.
Halo 5: Guardians will be released exclusively on Xbox One on October 27.
