Astro announced today a new Xbox One peripheral for its A40 headset, originally released in the fall of 2014, dubbed the MixAmp M80.
The MixAmp M80 is a dongle that attaches to the Xbox One controller and enables users to balance the volume between voice chat and in-game sound, swap between three different EQ settings, and also includes a convenient click-to-mute button. The MixAmp M80 can be purchased separately at $60 for those that already have the A40 headset for Xbox One or as a package for $200 that includes both the A40 headset and the MixAmp M80.
Astro has also announced that the A40 headset will now be available in a new color variant: dark grey with orange highlights. The new color variant makes for a total of four color options for the A40 headset along with the light grey with blue highlights, as well as the solid dark grey and solid light grey options.
Recently, Microsoft announced a new controller for the Xbox One – its biggest change over the original controller being the addition of a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Yesterday, Microsoft also announced a new SKU for the Xbox One that includes a 1 TB hard drive, the aforementioned new controller, and a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Absent from the new bundle is the Kinect camera peripheral.
