A new trailer for Armikrog, the stop motion, Claymation, point-and-click adventure game from the creators of Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood games, has [crash] landed and features the title’s leading companion, Beak-Beak, as well as the announcement of an August 18 release date on Windows PC, Mac, and Linux.
The trailer is narrated by Beak-Beak, who is voiced by Rob Paulsen (Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain), and tells of Beak-Beak’s adventure thus far with his friend Tommynaut, who is voice by Michael J. Nelson (Mystery Science Theater 3000). The two have crash landed on an alien planet with hostile wildlife and must solve puzzles to escape the prison they’ve been thrown in and get off the dangerous planet.
“There simply is no other game on the market like Armikrog,” said Versus Evil general manager Steve Escalante. “After a successful Kickstarter, the Pencil Test team have created a hand sculpted, stop motion game fans young and old will enjoy. Every hand-crafted detail of Armikrog is beautiful, funny, and rich. It is a true compliment to what indie development teams can accomplish when they have a strong vision.”
Armikrog was funded on Kickstarter, clearing its initial $900,000 goal and passing the $950,000 stretch goal that will bring the game to the Wii U and last year PlayStation announced that it will be coming to PS4. The August 18 release date announced today only lists Windows PC, Mac, and Linux, however.
Players can pre-order Armikrog right now for PC, Mac, and Linux and receive a 10% discount. There are two editions currently available: a standard edition and a deluxe edition. The latter includes the game, as well as the soundtrack by Terry Scott Taylor.
