Some of you might recall the “Ember” trailer that Treyarch released back in April to build hype for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. It hinted at a world where cybernetics and augmentation had become commonplace, and it’s honestly pretty scary.
The editing makes the video a rather overwhelming experience, with most of it being fast-paced. However, there were some moments where it slows down just enough for you to notice. You might have thought it was a bit off and didn’t match the rest of the video, but there’s a reason for that. Take another look.
Planted in the trailer was a website for Court Optic retinal implants. It’s an actual website, and it’s suspicious that Treyarch would go out of their way to buy the domain name just to put up the video of that advertisement. When you get to the end, though, there’s a different final frame for the ad:
COMING SOON. Last we checked, it’s only 2015, and a 40-year wait is hardly something we’d consider “soon.” We’re guessing that it’s probably going to be another avenue for Treyarch to reveal updates about the campaign and the storyline of Black Ops 3. We're keeping our eyes on this website.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set to be released on November 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
