InXile Entertainment launched the latest of several Kickstarter campaigns for the company, Tuesday, for The Bard’s Tale 4.
The developer has set its goal at $1,250,000 by July 10, 2015 at 9 a.m. ET and has raised over $575,000 in less than nine hours on the crowd-funding service. Also, if the $1.25 million crowd-funding goal is met, inXile will be contributing an additional $1.25 million of its own money.
Those that pledge an amount of $20 or more to the dungeon-crawling sequel to the original Bard’s Tale series within the first 24 hours of the Kickstarter campaign will receive a copy of The Witcher, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, or Wasteland 2 (another one of inXile’s Kickstarter-funded games) upon completion of a successful Kickstarter campaign for The Bard’s Tale 4.
The launch of this Kickstarter campaign marks the 30th anniversary of the original Tales of the Unknown I: The Bard’s Tale, whic was released in 1985 and developed by Interplay. The backer tiers range from $5 to $10,000 and include rewards like the game itself when it is released, digital map, digital artbook, soundtrack, invitation to a launch party, and more.
Should the Kickstarter campaign prove successful for the developer, The Bard’s Tale 4 will be released on PC, Mac, and Linux.
