Halo Infinite Might Add Grifball and Infection Modes Soon

December 28, 2021 by Carley Garcia

Give the players what they want.

Halo Infinite continues to impress. Called one of the best multiplayer games of the last year, many longtime fans of the Xbox series are also claiming that Infinite is the best installment since Halo 3. Rumors have begun spreading thanks to one particular Twitter user by the name of HaloNoticiasMX, who claims that Grifball and Infection may be added to the game sooner rather than later. New medal titles such as “Undead Hunter,” “Zombie Slayer,” “and “Interception” seem to point towards these two modes, and the illustrations for these medals also point towards the same possibility. Although 343 Industries hasn’t addressed this popular subject, they’re absolutely aware of the fan demand.

Halo Infinite has been touted as the foundation of the next decade of the franchise, and 343 might not be in a rush to release all fan-favorite content at once. Last month, the Fiesta playlist was added to the title’s multiplayer, giving all players random weapons and equipment upon spawning. Although being well-received by players, it was only available for a limited time. Player feedback is a powerful thing, and the company has since added Fiesta mode permanently.

343 Industries was initially criticized for the implementation of the game’s Battle Pass. In late November, an update to the multiplayer reward system fixed some of these issues, giving players experience for the first six matches played each day. Halo community manager John Jonyszeck stated that these fixes were temporary, and advised players to keep an eye out for more long-term patches and changes coming in the future.

Halo Infinite was released on December 8, 2021. The title is available to play on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S and on Xbox Game Pass. The title’s multiplayer mode broke the record for Xbox Game Studios on Steam with over 270,000 concurrent players upon release. Currently, Halo Infinite is hosting the Winter Contingency event until January 3, 2022, so be sure to log in to snag some themed cosmetics for the New Year.
