We’re sure you remember Abandoned. This was a new upcoming video game reveal in 2021 made exclusively for the PlayStation 5. The small announcement had plenty of fans wondering just what this game would end up being. Unfortunately, all we had was a small trailer and that this would be a survival horror game experience. It was quickly assumed that this was a game connected to the Silent Hill franchise for quite a few fans out there.
Fans were connecting this game with Hideo Kojima as well. Previously, Hideo Kojima worked on Silent Hills, his take on the franchise over at Konami. Eventually, Kojima and Konami parted ways, and the Silent Hill game was killed off. Now that Kojima Productions was started up, it was speculated that Abandoned was another tease to showcase a Silent Hill game from the iconic developer.
Despite Blue Box Game Studios claiming that this was not a game attached to Silent Hill, their efforts have not always been successful. In fact, during the Summer of 2021, Blue Box Game Studios offered an experience app to further tease Abandoned, but the application didn’t offer much than a short video. Ultimately, quite a few fans were upset over this. That left the developers feeling like they needed to go above and beyond in 2022.
A recent blog post from the studio claims that they will update the experience app in 2022. That will give players a tech demo to get an idea of how the game will handle. For instance, the developers will be using the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, which has its own unique features. Additionally, the developers plan to release the Prologue of Abandoned sometime within the first quarter of 2022.
