After players noticed a bug in the latest patch for The Witcher 3 that caused problems with experience gain from quests, CD Projekt RED has announced that they are working on a fix that will be released next week on all platforms.
Community lead and website coordinator at CD Projekt RED Marcin Momot took to the game’s official forums to alleviate players’ concerns over the experience gain bug.
"We would like to let everyone know that we are aware of the XP glitch players are reporting and we are working to have it fixed as soon as possible across all platforms (Monday for PC & patch 1.04 on consoles in the following days)," Momot writes.
Players who have lost out on experience from quests due to this bug won’t see that missing experience restored to their character when the fix is instated, Momot confirmed, saying, “The XP won't be added back for the finished quests. Sorry about this.”
Momot also noted, “…it doesn't impact the game balance in any significant way. Also, you will be able to finish the game with your character achieving a level within the threshold we had in mind when we designed the game.”
Tweeting this morning, Momot also confirmed that a patch for small text on console versions of the game will be fixed “soon.”
If you are playing The Witcher 3 on PC with an Nvidia GPU and have had to deal with frequent crashes, this fix can help.
