Name annoying things that could happen to you while playing Black Ops 2. Your teammates forget to capture the objective, get EMP’d, shot in the back by a shotgun because your teammates didn’t remember that you all could get picked off from behind, too. You can spawn in the best spot for your opponents to shoot you right in the face, and you can even fail to throw a grenade out a window and end up taking yourself out.
That’s all pretty annoying, but none of it is as bad as getting hit by a Noob Tube.
Noob Tubes require little skill and become extremely annoying when the enemy just keeps spamming them. Bonus points if they’ve also got Danger Close going for them! They’re well on their way to becoming extremely hated by anyone they cross paths with.
It looks like Treyarch might be putting an end to this nuisance. The most recent build of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 seems to have eliminated Noob Tubes altogether. Danger Close, a Tier 2 Perk, seems to have been sacked as well. They’re bringing back Dead Silence and Scavenger for sure, while eliminating Toughness. The Treyarch team is trying to make Black Ops 3 more balanced, and the elimination of Noob Tubes and Danger Close is a step in a better direction.
Taking out the crutch Perks – the ones that help not-so-good players too much – will probably make the gaming experience more enjoyable for the serious players. We’re hoping Treyarch doesn’t decide to bring them back at the last minute. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is set for release on November 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
