It's been a big few weeks for publisher Bandai Namco as they took the top sales spots with Project CARS, and more recently, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
According to MCVUK, which collected the sales data, CD Projekt RED's open-world role-playing game managed to destroy the Week One sell-through of this year's earlier title Battlefield Hardline by up to 53%, making it the biggest video game launch of the year, thus far. No doubt these numbers will be shattered yet again when Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 comes out, but until then, The Witcher 3 is riding high.
According to the publication, The Witcher 3's first week sales are 608% higher than The Witcher 2, which launched in 2012. The new game managed to sell its best on the PS4, with over 63% of buyers purchasing the game on the Sony platform.
