The RPG renaissance is alive and well with the likes of recent releases, and it’s set to continue with InXile’s Torment: Tides of Numenera. Today, the studio behind the game released a fantastic new trailer advertising the game’s Numenera setting–the Ninth World.
Judging from the trailer, it looks like Torment is taking many (good) cues from its spiritual prodecessor, Planescape: Torment, offering an out-of-this-world setting that’s equal parts science fiction and fantasy. We liked the concept so much that we named it one of our best games of 2014–back before we had a release date for the title, which is now ‘late 2015.’
While the studio intends to launch a campaign for The Bard’s Tale IV on Kickstarter, it appears to be hard at work at Torment, which itself was only made possible with a Kickstarter success.
