Ubisoft has confirmed that they are working on a new and unannounced AAA title. It’s possible that the details on this IP have been already leaked.
This starts with insider superannuation, who found a pair of videos May of last year. Curiously, in spite of attempting to make multiple backups, the videos are nowhere to be found online, either on YouTube, Vimeo, or even DailyMotion.
One site retrieved pictures of early concept art from the videos, which you can see below. Based on the rumors, the tentatively titled Hero is an open world Western fantasy RPG, with wizards, mages, and similar characters. This same rumor implies that the project will be released next year.
Why are we taking this rumor seriously? Because Ubisoft confirmed they are working on a new AAA game. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed this in their latest earnings report to investors. The title joins Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Tom Clancy’s The Division and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege in the list of upcoming Ubisoft games for the year.
Yves said that the game will not be revealed at E3, but later this fall. In the same talk, Yves touted the popularity of open world games, and so this coming IP is no surprise at all.
