Mighty No. 9 was originally supposed to be released this month but with May just around the corner, developer Comcept has revealed the game will be released on September 15th.
Kenji Inafune's Kickstarted spiritual successor is being developed in conjunction with Abstraction Games and is to be published by Deep Silver.
“First of all, yes, it is a delay from our original Spring estimate,” Comcept announced on the Mighty No. 9 website. “The reason for the delay, and the reason we are so excited about this new partnership [with Deep Silver] in the first place, is all the cool stuff it will allow us to add to the game – content that all Backers will get absolutely free.
“Added Japanese and French voiceovers in addition to English, which is free for all backers and extra subtitle languages in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Polish and Brazilian Portuguese. Again, free for all backers.
“Best of all: the entire Ray DLC set which is an entire extra level and boss and playable character. This is free for all backers as well.”
Comcept announced that Deep Silver has given the developers additional time and extra resources for “testing, polish, and the creation of physical retail versions”.
The platformer is due to be released on 3DS, Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One after raising $3.8 million back in 2013.
