Remember the Netflix live action The Legend of Zelda series rumored from a while back? We have some information that may or may not mean something in connection to this rumor.
First, to return to the rumor, this came from a source of the Wall Street Journal last February. Just a month later, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata stated in an interview that the information from that WSJ report was inaccurate, but also that they could not confirm or deny any TV or similar projects at the time. Iwata may have alluded to inaccuracy on any number of details here, from the project actually existing, to Netflix being the producer, or possibly just that the project hasn’t started yet.
Now, actress Zelda Williams shared these very vague tweets a few hours ago:
Fun segue! I am, for a fun special announcement! Not Korra related, but I can't wait to finally spill the beans 😉 https://t.co/hsoySJty6l

I am! That's not the special announcement, but I'll be on more cartoons soon 😉 Keep your ears open! https://t.co/C4FwffR92A

Zelda is most famous for being the daughter of late comedian Robin Williams, and being named after Princess Zelda from the Legend of Zelda video games. Zelda has been acting since 1994 but has been most active with multiple roles from 2008 to today. Her most visible recent roles were as Caitlin in Teen Wolf and as the voice of villainess Kuvira from Avatar: The Legend of Korra.
In the same March interview, Iwata hinted at a willingness to bring Nintendo IPs to other media projects. In fact, they were in Comic Con last year, hosting a tournament for Super Smash Bros for 3DS.
With Zelda Wii U delayed to next year, coincidentally the 30 year anniversary of the franchise, wouldn’t Comic Con 2015 be the perfect time to announce a live action The Legend of Zelda show starring Zelda Williams? Is this what you would like to see? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
