Telltale Games is teaming up with Marvel, no doubt to produce some Marvel-themed adventures in the future. The two companies announced their collaboration at an event in San Francisco today, where they disclosed that a project they're working on will be ready by 2017–just in time for Marvel's third batch of films.
Telltale has been branching out to produce games belonging to many popular franchises, including Game of Thrones and Borderlands, and it even has a Minecraft title on the horizon. Their collaboration with Marvel will produce what may be the first superhero-themed adventure game. There's not a lot of those out in the wild.
Marvel game adaptations haven't been particularly successful in recent years, but that doesn't mean the company's given up on video games. We're likely to see more collaborations given the popularity of the new Avengers film.
