Guitar Hero Live was announced last week by Activision and FreeStyleGames has released a new developer diary which focuses on the creation of the game's live action segments.
The live-action elements were made using real bands and features crowds which react to how well you're performing in the game.
FreeStyleGames also discusses GHTV in the video, which they describe as the "world's first playable music video network."
Guitar Hero Live is set for release laster this year but even if it's a success Activision currently isn't planning a sequel for next year. Speaking to GameInformer, senior director Tyler Michaud said "It is not in our plan to put out a new disc in 2016. When you look at what [Guitar Hero Live's GHTV] can do, we can bring you that new content and new ways to play without having to ship you a new disc."
Michaud went on to say that he believes this approach will allows the series to escape the over-saturation and annualisation which hampered the franchise in the past.
