The PlayStation 4 has been updated with a new batch of firmware, bringing the system up to version 2.51. Users worldwide have just started receiving the latest firmware update, downloaded automatically to their systems.
The download weighs in at 200MB, but the Sony website has yet to be updated to reflect the release of the new firmware revision.
The PS4 firmware message reveals that the update only carries with it a couple of stability fixes, which are as follows:
- System software stability during use of some features has been improved
- Operation quality during use of some applications has been improved
As with typical updates, a reboot is required, so don't forget to do that before running any games. It is unknown what games are directly affected by the update.
