Microsoft doesn't really have a lot of exclusive IPs compared to its rivals Nintendo and Sony, so they have all the more reason to expand their retinue. Today, the company's head of Xbox Phil Spencer announced via Twitter that the studio will be expanding its first-party titles for Xbox One.
Spencer confirmed that there will be a new exclusive IP at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year.
@Masih3KA We should have new exclusive IP at E3. I'm trying to make this E3 more about 1st party than past E3s.

The executive also stated that he thinks this year's E3 will be the company's "best 1st party content year ever." He was quick to clarify that the company will also be announcing 3rd party deals, but that its focus will be on 1st party titles this time around.
Spencer previously stated that Microsoft is working on an IP that isn't a military-themed shooter or a racing game, so it'll be interesting to see exactly what they have in store this time around.
E3 begins in June 15.
