Slightly Mad Studios has opened up an FAQ for Project CARS, with stunning revelations for the game on PC.
You may have heard that the game runs at 900p on Xbox One and 1080p on PlayStation 4, with both running at full 60 FPS. However, on PC, the game can run at a staggering 12K resolution. This blows away early previews of the game at 4K, which already seemed so impressive 2 years ago.
Slightly Mad claims that they have built the game for 8th generation consoles, but it is scalable to multiple PC specifications. Curiously, the Steam version now joins the Wii U version in getting delayed indefinitely. Perhaps this is simply to ensure the game releases with as much momentum on PS4 and Xbox One as possible.
The FAQ page also addresses some other technical specifications. Of course, Slightly Mad has labored on the game before DirectX 12, or Windows 10, has launched. They claim they are definitely looking into DirectX 12. The game also does not have a split screen mode, specifically to ensure it meets its 60 FPS goal.
When it comes to racing, PS4, Xbox One and 32-bit PC users will be able to play with 16 other players online, and 64-bit PC users, 32 players online. In-game, there can be as many as 45 vehicles on the track.
Lastly, you can take a look at the game’s current recommended specs below:
