GTA 5 is certainly a hefty bundle for PC, based on the 7 disc box set the game is getting. We have details on how the game can be made to run on 4K.
First off, Rockstar did not officially announce the PC version would have 7 discs. Instead, pictures of the 7 disc set came up online. It will certainly make one wonder why the industry hasn’t thought to switch over to Blu-Ray discs for retail versions of large games like these.
Rockstar did talk about adapting the PC version of the game to suit all gamers’ needs. They say what they learned from prior PC releases is that fans like to have the flexibility to choose whatever build they will run their game on. Subsequently, they need to make their games flexible to accommodate different setups.
So, the recommended settings that Rockstar provided will run the game at the sought after performance specs of 1080p, 60FPS. These will work best if your PC is an Nvidia GTX 660 2 GB or an AMD HD7870 2GB. For 4K, Rockstar recommends a jump to Nvidia GTX 760 or AMD HD7870 with 2GB RAM and upwards. If you want 4K and 60 FPS, you will need to go with Crossfire or SLI.
