For those of you obsessed with this intense twitchy twin-stick shooter, whatever your skill level, this is certain to be a welcome update, with a total 100 new levels and more. Evolved introduces changes to level progression, making the business of progressing and unlocking new modes easier. On the other end of the spectrum, there is also a new 20 stage Hardcore mode that removes the drones and supers.

Everyone will enjoy the 40 levels added to Adventure mode, which brings with them a new drone called Sweeper and a new super ability called Detonator. There are also new Hardcore and Ultimate Modes, each with their own levels, as well as a great new addition to Classic mode called Retro Classic Evolved.

Retro Classic Evolved brings back the genuine original ruleset of Geometry Wars, from way back when it was just a bonus on the Gotham City racing demo disc. You get three lives, three bombs, and your score multiplier automatically goes up with every enemy you take out but resets when you die.

Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions remains available at its original retail price of $ 14.99, and you can pick up the free update immediately after purchase with the base game. It is available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
