It looks like Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has changed his mind on playable female characters.
In a new interview with Famitsu, he states that it is possible that female characters will join the party, not as permanent members, but as guests. Tabata also states that when a female character does get added in, the social dynamics will change as your main characters will start acting differently.
Tabata also reiterated that the battle system fans got to play in Episode Duscae was 50 percent of the final battle system. His team is considering fan feedback seriously, and promises the final version will have co-op chains and magic.
Speaking of fan feedback, Famitsu held a fan customer satisfaction survey for Episode Duscae. 70 percent of all players were satisfied to very satisfied, and 20 percent were dissatisfied to somewhat dissatisfied.
Tabata’s newest revelation could be a welcome sign for people who were looking for more diversity on a game with a nearly all-male cast. However, he also phrased it in such a way that it’s clear he hasn’t deviated from his position that he wants gamers to experience the game from a primarily male perspective.
