Bloodborne is an amazing game, no doubt about it. But what's really cool is the attention to detail the developers put into the game's display of blood and gore, which covers the player character in a splash of crimson whenever they do violence.
In most games, characters would be spattered evenly by the blood and taking off your bloody gear would either reset your character model or cause blood to appear on surfaces where there shouldn't be any. Not so with Bloodborne.
Here's what happens when your character gets blood on you while you're wearing a mask and a hat and you take it off. Notice how the lower portion of her face is clean? Yeah, that's pretty neat.
