Rockstar Confirms GTA 5 Graphics Downgrade, Releases New Patch To Adress It

March 27, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Parallax mapping issues remain but the issues have been mostly resolved by patch 1.9.

Rockstar has addressed allegations of a graphical downgrade to Grand Theft Auto 5 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Actually, they confirmed it.

Fans actually observed the graphical downgrade after they applied patch 1.08. What you can see in the video below are issues with parallax mapping, reduction in the cars’ deformation rate, and an increase in popping rate.

Rockstar shared his statement when asked about it on their support site:

We are aware of some graphical issues on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of GTAV after the most recent Title Update, and we are investigating a fix now.

Now, they have released patch, 1.9, just to fix these bugs. Deformation and popping issues have been resolved but not parallax mapping.
