Illustrator Jerrod Maruyama, whose flickr account is well known for the artist's depictions of "lil" caricatures and reimaginings of popular characters, and real-world personalities, has discovered that one of his pieces of work–a caricature of Paula Deen–has been stolen by an official Paula Deen mobile app.
The mobile app, called Paula Deen's Recipe Quest, uses a modified version of his Paula Deen caricature (seen here), which the artist produced in 2012. The similarities are undeniable, as seen in the image above.
The artist brought this to the public's attention on his Twitter account.
I've reached out to the artist to find out whether they plan to take any legal action against the app's developer, Dream Forge Entertainment.
