Kingdom Hearts 3 will be coming out later this year or in early 2016. With that in mind, it's time for developer Square Enix to start thinking about a demo of the game. They've already published one for Final Fantasy 15 through the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, so it's a fair bet that this may well be the next target in their sights.
However, I would argue that Square Enix should allow this demo to be downloadable and free. For many players, Kingdom Hearts is a bit estranged. The franchise has spent the last ten years on handheld platforms, making absolutely no appearances on consoles. In order to reacquaint players with Sora and his band of misfit Disney heroes, it would probably be best to allow this demo to the largest amount of people possible. A nice banner advertisement over the Xbox and Playstation online marketplaces seems like a pretty good idea.
At any rate, TheGamersJoint advocates the oppposite. He thinks that a demo should come packaged with Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance HD. While neither the game nor the demo are confirmed, it's a solid idea and is worth a listen.
