Ubisoft’s announcement of a new DRM policy for upcoming it’s PC line-up starting with Silent Hunter 5 and Assassin’s Creed 2 received massive backlash from the PC gaming community. Ubisoft had earlier said that with the new DRM in place players need to be connected to the internet to play the DRM protected games and the moment connection is dropped the game stops playing and you have to continue from the last check point when the connection is restored.
Well, Ubisoft has addressed a few of those issues in the upcoming PC version of Assassin’s Creed 2 by releasing a v1.01 Patch before the release of the game.

+ Game can now be continued from the exact same point when connection is restored
+ Added support for ATI Eyefinity technology
+ Fixed minor performance issues related to some multi-core processors
+ Now resets graphics options if a new video card or monitor is detected
+ Fixed some minor issues in Uplay Browser
Assassin’s Creed 2 for the PC is scheduled to release on March 16, 2010
