Earlier today, we reported that WTFast had been engaging in the practice of bribing Steam users with premium memberships to its service in exchange for good reviews on Steam. The company has since been told by Valve that it can no longer do this.
Here's what the company's CEO, Rob Bartlett, posted on the official Steam community page for WTFast, who appears to be taking it all in stride.
I am writing this message as an apology to our fans who have given us great reviews about their experience using WTFast. We are unable to give you a free month as we promised. Valve has told us that we cannot offer free WTFast premium time in exchange for reviews. We screwed up, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We really appreciate our fans around the world for their continued support, but we cannot give you any incentive to vouch for our services. Your support means a lot to us. We really do value your voice to show that WTFast does get great results for a lot of users. We know we still have lots of improvements to make for our tech, and we appreciate the valid/constructive feedback we have been getting on Steam. This feedback is helping us to continue to improve WTFast to ensure we can get strong results for every user, all the time. This is our goal!Rob BartlettCEO / Co-FounderWTFast
