Some new teasers have created ambiguity on the role that the Clown Queen of Crime, Harley Quinn, will have in Batman Arkham Knight. Could Arkham Knight's Dr Quinnzel have regained her senses and be secretly working with the Dark Knight? Here's what we know.
DC Comics have shared a preview for the Batman Arkham Knight prequel comic, issue number 5. You can read the comic description below (and buy the comic digitally here):
Will the Clown Prince of Crime have the last laugh from beyond the grave? Find out when Harley Quinn is Batman’s only hope to save Commissioner Gordon from the Joker's Last Will and Testament!
There is also a preview of the first pages of the comic, which you can read here. The full details aren't public, of course, but it is reasonable to assume that, for one reason or another, Quinn actually helps save Commissioner Gordon, as we know he's alive and well and communicating with Bruce from early previews of the game.
Rocksteady themselves have shared another preview of the game itself. This time, they share details of the Harley Quinn Story pack, which is an Amazon preorder exclusive. You can read their preview below.
For the first time in the Arkham series take on the role of Joker’s psychotic side-kick Harley Quinn and wreak havoc inside the Blüdhaven Police Department. With this exclusive Story Pack experience events in the lead-up to Arkham Knight as you infiltrate Blüdhaven to rescue your partner in crime: Poison Ivy. Delve deep into Harley’s demented nature and utilize her devastating baseball bat to smash, crash and bash your way to a friend very much in need.
This time, we learn that the Harley-Ivy pairing, originally popularized in Batman: The Animated Series and expanded in the comics, is now also part of the Arkhamverse canon. While I'm sure Harley-Ivy fans will cheer at this development, this does lead to new questions about whose side Harley exactly is on in this coming turf war.
If you remember, I actually already brought up the possibility that Harley might be secretly working with Bruce, based on the fallout of the Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC. Harley has also been made a hero, both in the comics and in another game (Injustice), so this is a serious possibility for Arkham Knight. But then again, Harley may be playing both sides in this war, and have an agenda of her own.
Rocksteady also shared a new, very creepy pic of the Scarecrow, which you can see below.
Batman: Arkham Knight is coming to Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 2, 2015.
