Kingdom Hearts fans have been waiting for almost a decade to see the series return to consoles. While many expected the games would return to the Playstation 4 with exclusivity, the game's announcement revealed that Kingdom Hearts 3 would making its way to the Xbox One as well. The series' third iteration stands to be one of the biggest game releases of 2016, with Sora leading the familiar troupe with Donald Duck and Goofy.
Fans will be excited to hear that a special Kingdom Hearts event is being planned alongside the D23 Expo in Tokyo, Japan later this year. The convention runs from November 6-8, but the Kingdom Hearts event will be taking place a bit earlier, on November 3. It's expected that Kingdom Hearts 3 will be playable for the first time here. While E3 still stands as a strong candidate in fitting this bill, we're not convinced that the game is far enough through development for Square Enix to show. We speculate that E3 will have some Kingdom Hearts 3 material shown, but not playable.
