Harmonix has announced that its upcoming music game Rock Band 4 is set to run at 1080p/60fps when it launches on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Speaking to MCV (via Videogamer), Eric Pope, product manager at Harmonix, revealed that the studio is taking great lengths to make the game run at that resolution while offering top-notch performance that makes full use of the hardware on both systems.
He revealed that Harmonix constructed a brand new engine specifically for Rock Band 4 to make use of the new-gen hardware.
"It's going to look 'next-gen' with more realistic lighting, character models, and animation," he said
"It'll be 1080p and will run at 60fps," Pope added. "I know there's a vocal group of players that want to hear that. But what to me is more exciting is the online infrastructure of the consoles. It will open a lot [of] opportunities for us to support the game in more reactive, timely ways."
Rock Band 4 arrives later this year. Although there is no official release date for the title, MCV suggests that the game will be out by October.
