Bloodborne comes out later this month to a Sony fan base that has been waiting a long time for the From Software-developed title. Players are eager to see if From Software can branch off of the popular Souls series and be successful, even if Bloodborne is strikingly similar to the franchise.
In the latest issue of MCV PlayStation UK product manager Joe Palmer stated that "the Souls games are phenomenally popular, so ensuring that fans are aware of the common ground they share with Bloodborne is a vital part of our strategy."
"However, it's not just the similarities with previous From Software games that we want to communicate," he went on. "How Bloodborne differs from the Souls series will be at the forefront of our communications. Bloodborne provides a great chance for us to tap into a highly engaged audience and provide an invaluable contribution to PS4."
Initial reviews and previews have highlighted Bloodborne as the first true, can't-miss title of the current console generation. While these statements are lofty, so is the hype for Bloodborne. We're just hoping that the game doesn't go the way of last month's The Order: 1886, which failed to make a resounding impact.
