Bloodborne Chalice Dungeon Creation Showcased

March 14, 2015 by Ian Miles Cheong

Here’s how the game’s procedurally generated dungeons are made within the game.

Sony Computer Entertainment and From Software producer Masaaki Yamagiwa showcased the creation of the procedurally generated chalice dungeons in Bloodborne.

In the Nico-Nico video, seen below (via DualShockers), Yamagiwa explains how players can perform a ritual in the upcoming title to create what’s known as a ‘chalice dungeon’ by activating a chalice while having the requisite materials.

Bloodborne is being developed as the spiritual successor to the Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls series of games. From Software has sent the final build of Bloodborne to Sony for QA and certification,—meaning it’s “gone gold.”

The project director, Hidetaka Miyazaki recently revealed that the game will feature a New Game Plus mode.

Bloodborne is set for a March 24 release in the US, and March 27 in the UK. It is exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
